From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

(-23) Pilot involved in air show at nas Pensacola. Flight involved coordinated flight with FA-18 super hornet. Pilot set up to land on runway 7 and extended gear, flaps, and speed brakes. FA-18 super hornet called for landing on opposite runway so FJ-4B pilot broke off his approach, cleaned up the aircraft, and proceeded for the downwind entry to runway 15. Pilot extended speed brakes and began to scan for super hornet. In the process of scanning and changing runways the pilot failed to extend his gear and landed gear up.
