From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

(-23) During takeoff roll on rwy 5 just prior to lifting off, the aircraft began to drift left of the center line. The pilot attempted to apply right rudder to correct the direction of the aircraft and the right brake locked up steering the aircraft abruptly to the right. The copilot reduced power to idle as the aircraft veered toward the right side of the runway. The pilot applied both right and left brakes in an attempt to stop the aircraft but was unsuccessful. The aircraft veered off rwy 5 at approximately 15 m.p.h. into the grass and went through a small culvert which collapsed the nose gear as the aircraft came to rest.
