From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

(-23) On 12/07/2008, pilot privacy data omitted was performing touch and go's in aircraft N402BD, a vans RV4, on runway 12 left at vgt when on third landing, the aircraft came in at a "crabbed" position resulting in a tail right angle. Aircraft then departed left of runway about mid-field. While attempting to stop aircraft. Pilot applied heavy brakes causing aircraft to go tail up. As a result the propeller and spinner impacted the ground and aircraft bounced back to tail down position causing propeller and spinner to be destroyed.
