From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

(-23) While being vectored onto and ILS approach, the pilot ran the before landing checklist and did not extend his gear when the checklist called for it. The approach was flown with a 40 to 50 knot tailwind with ground speeds reported by the pilot in excess of 160 knots. The pilot reported that he had his hands full, was very busy, and forgot to put his gear down. He also reported that the gear warning horn was set to sound at 13" manifold pressure and that he had flown the entire approach with the power set at 15" manifold pressure. He broke out of the clouds, never extended the gear, and landed on the belly of the airplane. After the aircraft came to a stop, the pilot said he heard the gear warning horn for the first time.
