From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

About 10 miles out, aircraft was cleared to land runway 23. During the right base leg pilot slowed the aircraft to 130 knots, and extended the landing gear. The gear did seem to extend a little slower than normal, but the two main gear green lights came on first one by one. The nose gear green light was delayed a little longer and did not come on until about a ½ mile final. Pilot also held down the emergency extension lever for a few seconds just to make sure gear was completely down. Once the nose gear light illuminated pilot asked the control tower if they could visually confirm 3 gear. ATC confirmed with a yes. After this visual confirmation of 3 gear and the now 3 green down and lock indication, pilot continued his approach and landed on runway 23. When the aircraft was on the ground and during rollou,t the right main gear collapsed. At that time pilot pulled the mixture to the off position, the aircraft skidded down the runway on the right wingtip and started to skid towards the right side of the runway and came to stop on the edge of the runway. Initial maintenance inspection of landing gear components shows no defects. Extension and retraction of gear checks normal at this time.

As the FAA filed it
