From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

(-23) On March 22, 2009 at approximately 1610 EST, a Cessna 150, N5920T, registered to privacy data omitted, piloted by david pennybaker was in bound to the Madison Indiana airport (kims). During descent the pilot reported that the engine oil temperature had spiked to the red line and noticed smoke coming from the firewall and the aircraft lost power. Pilot initiated a landing onto a golf driving range approximately two miles south east of ims; the nose landing gear collapsed aft and under the aircraft shortly after touch down. Ground scaring identifies 7 propeller strikes along the path of travel, and is consistent with the condition of the propeller indicating engine power being produced at the time of landing.
