From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

(-23) privacy data omitted (pilot of Cessna 337, N373E) departed a private airstrip located about 9 miles south of the Stillwater, OK airport. Witness statements indicate the pilot departed about 0810 (CDT) and maneuvered close to the private airstrip until the aircraft crashed at about 0830 (CDT). The crash site was about one fourth mile west of the private airstrip. Witnesses stated that privacy data omitted was intending to fly to the Stillwater airport for fuel. The fuel drained from the aircraft after the recovery was about 6 gallons. Investigation of the wreckage, indicates that the front engine was not running and that the rear engine was not under power when the aircraft crashed. There was no evidence of fuel at the rear engine.
