From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

(-23) Aircraft landed on runway 33 at kasl, which is only 5,002 ft in length. Kasl's AWOS was out of service. Pilots claim they used weather information from longview (kggg), and that winds were 280/15. Inspectors from the dal FSDO contacted the national weather service as well as the ATC facilities at both kggg and shrieveport, LA, (equidistant from kasl). Both facilities showed gusty winds during the aircraft's arrival time that were between 220 and 230 degrees at 10 to 25 knots, which would result in a tailwind component for runway 33.
