From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

(-23) Student pilot was on first away from airport solo. Planned solo practice flight was for t.o. and landings at anoka, MN (ane) to cambridge, MN (kcbg), osceloa, WI (koeo) and return to ane. Departed ane 11:30, departed cbg 12:05 with uneventful landings and t.o.s. while enroute to oeo a weather breifing was obtained at 12:25 from oeo AWOS. Student entered into a crab on final and straightened out prior to landing, just before landing he experienced a gust of wind which blew the aircraft onto the adjacent grass, the aircraft struck three runway light, the aircaft was brought to a stop once back on the runway. Student taxied aircraft to ramp area at FBO and shut the aircaft down. Upon visual inspection by the FAA it was found the aircraft damage was minor. Princeton flight service pnm afss weather data showed koeo winds 180 at 15 KTS, the runway used was runway 10, this was a direct crosswind of 15KTS and the student was signed off for 7KT crosswind landings. A no solo letter was sent to student pilot for re-training with CFI in weather breifings related to go/no-go decisions and crosswind landings.
