From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

After 10 to 15 minutes on the ground the pilot attempted a restart and the engine started with no problem. The passengers took ground transportation to the Salmon, Idaho airport (smn) to continue the flight to bzm on another air carrier. The pilot departed from the highway and flew to Salmon and added 35.1 gallons of fuel. When the aircraft departed boi, there was 20 gallons of fuel in each wing tank, for a total of 40 gallons. The flight from Salmon to boi was uneventful. When the aircraft arrived at boi, there was 16 gallons in the right tank and 17 gallons in the left tank. The subsequent maintenance investigation of the aircraft revealed no explanations for the engine failure.
