From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

(-23) The pilot, who was the sole occupant of the aircraft, took off at 14:18 hours CDT on a local VFR flight from runway 18 at Gould Peterson Municipal Airport (K57) in Tarkio, Missouri to practice her aerobatics routine. She performed vertical climb with two left hand rolls, then a forward tumble and unplanned inverted flat spin. During the flat spin, it appears that she had control problems and entered a 45 degree dive. At the bottom of the dive, the aircraft pulled out of the dive and then immediately rolled right, going inverted and continued to roll right side up striking the ground in about a 30 degree right bank with about a 25 degree nose down attitude. The pilot, the only occupant of the aircraft, was fatally injured post accident investigation showed no evidence of any structural failure before impact, the engine was developing power prior to impact.
