From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

(-23) On a part 91 flight from slaton (F49) to Abernathy, Texas (F83), N11EN, a Maule M4-220C landed hard causing a compromise of the structural tubing. The "h" tubing located below the copilot seat bent when the tubing on the forward right post beam separated due to corrosion. The structural stress from the separation of the post beam was transferred to the "h" structure, which also failed. Examination of the separated tubing revealed the tube was completely filled with corrosion. The cause of the failure was undetected corrosion of the structural tubing weld point. Two persons were on board. No injuries were sustained.
