From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

Shortly after take-off, on the second leg of a crosscountry flight to 8A1 for refueling, the pilot noticed the winds steadily increasing and fuel comsumption was at much greater rate than normal. Nearest airfield was 8A1. While on approach to rwy 03, an aircraft taxied onto active rwy for take-off. Pilot initiated a go around and while turning down wind for another approach to rwy 03, the aircraft lost power due to fuel starvation. Pilot elected to flat stall the aircraft into a thick layer of trees. Pilot and passenger exited aircraft with no injuries.
