From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

The glider made a hard landing short of runway 30 at Faribault Municipal Airport, which was also the departure point. It then bounced and landed on a taxiway where the main gear seperated and the right wingtip struck the pavement shearing the wingtip wheel. The glider then turned 90 degrees to the right and slid an additional 100 feet into the grass and stopped. The empannage of the glider was broken off approximately 6 feet from the aft end of the aircraft.
