From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

Both occupants exited the aircraft without injury. Engine oil was found splattered within the engine compartment and running underneath the aircraft with splatter on tail surfaces. The dipstick indicated almost no oil remainng. Preflight 5.5 qts. Oil was measured and 1 qt. Was added prior to take-off, 1.5 hours earlier. Upon inspection of the engine, there were cracks found in the crankcase, including a one inch crack in the upper, rear potion of the crancase above the #3 cylinder.
