From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

Pilot landed at rst and after touch down he held the nose wheel off allowing for smooth tough down. When the nose wheel touched down the nose wheel collapsed and the aircraft stopped on the runway with minor damage. The aircraft is a experimental home built and the nose wheel connection which connects with the fire wall broke and the nose wheel collapsed just past a weld. The pilot/ mechanic spoke with the manufacture and the nose wheel takes a lot of twisting and the new nose wheel assemblies are reinforced at the fire wall to prevent this issue. The pilot/ mechanic was already fixing the aircraft per the manufacture recommendations.
