From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

Just prior to landing on runway 17R, pilot heard metal dragging on pavement. Pilot raised the nose of the aircraft and added power. A go around was initiated and the pilot then flew by the control tower to see if the gear appeared to be down and locked. Tower stated it appeared to be only partially down. Pilot requested to leave the traffic pattern and attempted to lower the gear normally and with the emergency lever. This effort was unsuccessful and the pilot elected to land the aircraft in the grass beside runway 17L with the landing gear partially down. Aircraft propeller tips were curved due to striking the runway during the rejected landing and the engine exhaust and lower engine cowling were flattened during the gear partially down landing. The gear retracted back into the wheel well on touchdown. Pilot and passenger received no injuries.

As the FAA filed it
