From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

Upon takeoff from rwy 29R at fat and climbing through 1700 msi, a strong hot dry burning smell was detected in both the cockpit throughout the cabin area. After engine power was reduced by the flight crew, the smell dissipated after approximately 3 minutes. The captain decided to return to departing airport. Due to immediate return to airport, aircraft landed overweight but uneventful landing was made and aircraft was able to taxi to gate under its own power. Company maintenance crew was dispatched from sfo and performed overweight landing inspection and replaced left and right pressure regulator valves. Also replaced both coelascer bags and left pneumatic pilot regulator valve. Performed engine run at 1.7 epr with no odors noticed throughout cabin and cockpit. Aircraft was returned to service.
