From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

Private pilot flying aircraft from left seat with flight instructor in right seat were doing touch and go takeoffs and landings in preparation for the private pilot's commercial pilot flight check. On the third landing while rolling on the runway at approximately 30 KTS and reconfiguring the aircraft for the takeoff, the pilot raised the flaps, pushed in the carburetor heat control, and moved the landing gear selector to the up position. The CFI in the right seat immediately put the gear selector back to the down position, but the left main and nose gear retracted while the right main gear remained down.

As the FAA filed it
