From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

On December 9, 2009, Mr. Rene fernandez, private pilot certificate no. 584583365, departed isla grande airport in his Cessna 337, N2669S, for a pleasure flight with a friend, who is also a pilot. Around 20 minutes later he returned the airport for a landing. After lowering the gear handle he did not get a response from the landing gear lights. After looking the left hand side mirror he noticed the main gear floating back and forth. Mr. Fernandez requested a low approach to confirm with the control tower. They informed him that the gear was half way down. After trying several times the check list emergency procedure for lowering the gear, it remained the same. After that he saw hydraulic fluid in the floor. He then decided to advise the tower of an emergency landing and proceeded to land the aircraft. Over the runway he followed the emergency procedure and landed the airplane in its belly without major incidents. An inspection of the aircraft revealed a broken hydraulic down line from the landing gear assembly.
