From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

Aircraft departed georgetown, SC at approx. 1040 where fuel was purchased and tanks were topped off per the pilot (13 gallons per tank) total of 26 gallons in aircraft. Pilot advised that his next fuel stop was in St. Augustine, FL (sgj) and he was on approach when the engine stopped and he proceeded to land on the highway that runs parallel to the airport. The aircraft hit the grass median then swerved across the highway and hit a few "signs" in the road before resting on the side of the road in a small ditch. There was evidence of a few drops of fuel in the fuel tanks, the aircraft was located approx 600 yards from the airport runway.
