From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

On the afternoon of March 6, 2010 private pilot and an instructor pilot, departed krvs on an IFR flight plan. The weather was clear with a south wind. The purpose of the flight was pleasure and practice. After shooting 2 GPS approaches at mko, one to a full stop, they returned to rvs. Upon roll out of the base leg the private pilot turned to base runway 19L, the aircraft began to get slow (below 80 KTS). Ip informed him that he was getting slow. He was already trying to correct and his hand was on the throttle. Pilot responded, " we're dead engine man." Ip then took control and turned towards the river while switching to the right fuel tank. The aircraft touched down gently on a sand bar in the Arkansas river and rolled a short distance before going in the water. The plane grinded to a halt in water and sand. Aircraft received annual inspection on 3/1/2010 but no abnormalities were noted in logbook or after post incident inspection of the aircraft. Engine was in running condition when removed from river.
