From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

While en route from el monte, CA (EMT) to woodland, CA (O41), the aircraft lost electrical power and diverted to Bakersfield municipal (L45). The PIC lowered the gear using the normal gear lever. The PIC ensured the gear was positively locked down by the resistance of the emergency handcrank being extremely hard. Upon landing, the nose gear collapsed damaging the nose gear area sheet metal, nose doors, nose strut and the propeller. A mechanic troubleshot the electrical system and found an inoperable alternator. Mechanic replaced alternator and electrical problem was corrected.
