From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

Aircraft N101RU serial number 01 experienced right gear failure on landing in Homerville, GA on 5/12/2010. During inspection the right shock strut lower attach point appeared sheared at the welded lug. Lower struts sheared 6 inches above welded attach point. Right flap trailing edge damaged along with lower wing skin and tip. Both sides of the aft fuselage are badly wrinkled. All signs indicate a hard landing. Shock strut fittings were shipped to the NTSB for failure analyst. As of 6/4/2010 waiting on analyst results. Received NTSB results 6/18/2010 and the fitting failed due to over stress. This supports the determination of a hard landing.
