What happened
The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.
On may 18, 2010, at approximately 0900 CDT, the pilot of N6911Z, a Piper saratoga, initiated a take off roll from runway 19 at Alpine Casparis municipal airport (E38). The pilot stated at this high altitude airport he reduces mixture slightly during taxi. The pilot reported during initial roll, the EGT was at 1450 and he enriched the fuel mixture to reduce EGT to 1350-1400 degrees. As the aircraft rotated, the climb seemed to stop and the engine RPM began to slow. The pilot checked throttle, prop, mixture full rich, and EGT was showing 1440. The aircraft settled onto the runway and overran the end of the runway and hit a fence and a metal pipe post. The aircraft sustained substantial damage to the right wing and landing gear. The pilot and passenger were not injured.
