From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

On July 3, 2010, at approximately 7:15 pm, N2466K, a Luscombe 8E made a low approach to a grass strip at the Tillamook Airport (tmk). The main landing gear and propeller caught the 3 - 4 foot tall grass approximately 300 feet before the threshold flipping over the aircraft. The empennage became 75% -85% disconnected from the fuselage as a result of the aircraft flipping over and the vertical stabilizer hitting the ground. At the time of the accident, the winds were 14 knots gusting to 20 and the temputure was 62 degrees fahrenheit with 72% humidity.
