From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

Aircraft departed parowon, UT at about noon, in a flight of four gliders. Aircraft crashed under unknown circumstances. Evidence at the scene indicated that the aircraft crashed at high velocity, nose down, high angle and inverted. Last radio communication was with one of the other gliders in the flight. Pilot indicated he was in a down draft, intended to return to parawon if he could get enough lift and if not he would land at the junction airport (U13), which was about 13 miles south of the crash site.
