What happened
The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.
Airport authority changed the arrival gate due to ramp maintenance. New gate did not have stop markings for DHC-8-100. The guide man was told to use a crack in the pavement as the stopping point. The ground equipment was prepositioned for the arrival. During the block-in sequence the guide man forgot to stop the aircraft on the pavement crack and directed the plane toward a DHC-8-400 stop mark. The prepositioned gpu was inline with the number 1 engine whose propeller consequently struck the gpu tow bar. The prop was damaged.
