From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

During rotation at lift off on a parachuting flight, the jump door, located on the right side of the aircraft opened. The pilot was not concerned with the door which would not have impacted the airplanes performance. One of the parachutists attempted to secure the door. The pilot yelled for him to stop, however, the parachutist continued to attempt to secure the door to the point he was partially outside the aircraft. The pilot then grabbed the parachutist and tried to pull him back inside. During this time the pilot became distracted and the airplane drifted over the trees alongside the left side of the runway. The aircraft subsequently impacted a stand of trees and then impacted the ground.
