From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

On August 8, 2010 subject airman was performing a normal GPS instrument approach during VFR conditions to runway 24 at Dutchess County Airport (kpou). During touchdown the subject airman bounced the aircraft several times loosing directional control and left the surface of the runway, the aircraft veered to the left side of the runway on the grass crossing two taxiways then going back on the surface of the runway and finally coming to rest in the grass to the left of the runway between taxiway gulf and hotel after hitting a taxi light. The aircraft sustained damage to the propeller with all three blades contacting the ground, damage to the right wing, right aileron, nose gear, tail section at the structrual tiedown point and both main gear doors. The subject airman stated that just prior to landing he had an alternator caution light flickering and then come on steady and was distracted by this causing him to bounce the aircraft on landing.
