From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

Pilot left seattle with 25 gallons fuel, and flew to Hillsboro on right tank until empty. Switched to both position on fuel selector passing hio airport, and entered left downwind to rwy 2 at Twin Oaks. Made left base to final approach, and slipped airplane to land right wing high. 1/4 mile from approach end of rwy 2 engine quit and pilot made emergency landing on field service road just short of runway. Aircraft damage substantial. Found 12 gallons fuel on board after accident and fuel system intact. Engine loss of power during slip to land assumed to be due to empty fuel in right wing and less than 1/2 in left wing causing air to enter fuel lines to carburetor.
