From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

Approaching jfk's terminal 3 gate 6 (a partial tow in gate), the aircraft stopped short of the jet bridge. Parking brakes were set. Engines were in the process of being shut down when the captain thought he saw the brake release hand signal from the marshaller. He released the parking brake and the airplane started to move forward. A vibration was felt in the cockpit. Suddenly the vibration increased. The parking brake was re-set. The captain looked out and saw a stop signal from the ground crew. The tow bar had never been connected. The aircraft had contacted the tug. Nose landing gear torsion links and nose gear tires sustained minor damaged and were replaced.
