From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

Pilot was landing a motorized hand-glider on a landing strip on private property. Pilot lost control during the landing roll and flipped the aircraft after hitting a ditch. Aircraft sustained substantial damage, pilot and passenger received minor injuries. Below is a copy of Mr. Liverman's statement: per your request, below is my statement regarding my accident: on 8/6/10 after taking about a 30 minute flight in my northwing apache scout X2, I was on final descent to land at the south oakes (NC47) field. My approach was normal and straight down the runway with a light head wind. As I rounded out somewhere between the 10 to 5 foot AGL, an unexpected gust or ground turbulence throwed me sharp right off the runway. At my slow landing speed, I was unable to straighten the position of my trike and impacted the ground. The impact caused severe damage to the left rear landing gear which caused my trike to roll on its left side. Because of the strength and integrity of the trike, myself and a passenger sustained minor non-life threatening injuries. End of statement. Thanks.
