From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

During a normal landing at the Willows, Glen-county airport, CA, the aircraft ground looped during rollout. The aircraft was substantially damaged during the landing. Substantial damage was sustained by the propeller, landing gear and wings. The aircraft was inspected after the accident when it was relocated to a nearby salvage facility. The flight controls were continuous and operated in the correct manner (rudder and elevators). The wings were removed for transport so the ailerons and flaps were not examined. The rudder pedals operated smoothly with no restrictions. The tail wheel functioned normally. The main landing gear wheels rotated smoothly and showed no mechanical irregularities. It appears that the aircraft was functioning normally when the accident happened. Pilot reported brakes felt like they were grabbing and te the peddle movement was stiff.
