From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

Pilot of N22NS, stated he had landed long on runway 27 (3347 feet in length and 50 feet wide). Skid marks started 375 feet from the end of the runway and continue another 300 on the displaced threshold, for a total of 675 feet. Aircraft departed runway 27 at the end of the displaced threshold, went over an embankment approximately 25 feet into thick brush, causing sudden engine stoppage. The brush stopped the aircraft from going down the embankment. Skid marks indicated loss of control on landing. Left main landing gear tire had a flat spot indicating hard braking with little or no rotation. Two runway lights were broken, no visual airframe damage was observed, at the time. Aircraft was extracted from the brush and towed to a parking spot. Runway was closed at 1500 and re-opened by the airport manager privacy data omitted at 1915 local. NOTAMS were established. On the scene ASI obtained a written, signed and dated statement from the pilot, privacy data omitted. Pilot was intereviewed by a phl ops ASI on 09/20/10. Owner of the aircraft privacy data omitted was notified that an airworthiness review of N22NS log books were required by the phl FSDO.
