From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

The helicopter was cleared to parking at hio. Approaching from the north west just south of the tower the aircraft was cleared to cross rwy 2 and follow taxiway charlie, south toward taxiway alpha 9. The aircraft was being operated by a student pilot on his first cross country solo. This was the final leg to his destination, hio and he was taxiing to his tie down spot. There was an Embraer jet holding short of rwy 30 on alpha 9. According to an eye witness the helicopter crossed alpha 9 approximately 30 feet behind the jet at an altitude of approximately 3 feet when the helicopter yawed left aproximately 100 degrees, yawed back to the right and then again left, banking back and forth. The helicopter contacted the ground in the grass approximately 8 feet beyond alpha 9 and rolled over.
