From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

The operator of the aircraft reported that just after a normal touchdown on centerline at Mckinney municipal airport, he noticed a slight shimmy with no brakes applied. The pilot stated that he applied back pressure to the elevator to reduce the shimmy. After applying back pressure to the elevator, the right main tire blew and the aircraft pulled to the right. He applied left brake until the aircraft came to a stop 20° from the centerline of the runway. The right main landing gear wheel and tire assembly was inspected and the wheel halves were found to have separated, puncturing the right main tire and severing the right main brake line at the brake cylinder attach point. No other aircraft damage was noted.
