From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

The pilot and an eyewitness stated that the airplane touched down about half way down the 2320 ft grass runway 04. The wind reports for the area at the time of the accident were from the west to northwest at about 10 knots. There is no weather reporting on the field. After touchdown, the aircraft failed to decelerate. The pilot states that his knee bumped the throttle, adding power. He did not recognize this for a few seconds which caused the aircraft to have a longer than normal landing roll. The left main gear caught a tire marking the edge of the runway which caused the pilot to lose control. The airplane then went over a gravel road causing it to become airborne momentarily. The wingtip hit the grass and then the aircraft came down and stopped. The nose gear collapsed on the final impact.

As the FAA filed it
