From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

On October 31, 2010, N8039V, a Rockwell international S-2R (thrush) hit a powerline during a pull-up while spraying a field. The wire hit midway on the propeller causing minor nicks to the propeller. The wire whipped onto the right wing causing minor dents to the top and bottom of the wing. The wire slid down the leading edge and caught on a seam at the wing tip and tore a two foot section out of the leading edge of the wing tip. The pilot stated trees at the end of the field obstructed his vision of the telephone poles and lines. The pilot flew the aircraft back to Lamesa Municipal Airport without further incident. No injuries were sustained in this event.
