From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

The pilot operating the aircraft forgot to select the gear down and subsequently landed the aircraft on runway 18L with the gear up. The pilot stated a contributing factor for forgetting to extend the gear was that the approach was conducted out of normal sequence due to ATC request to keep his airspeed at 145 KTS, four to five miles out, during the approach. Since the gear cannot be extended above 140 KTS, he delayed putting the gear down and said he did not replay the normal landing sequence in his mind as he was slowing the airplane down just prior to touchdown.

As the FAA filed it
