From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

Empire airlines flight 8804 (N807FE) had a #1 engine fire warning on a 2 or 3 mile final to Pasco, Washington tri-cities airport (kpsc). The flight crew completed the in-flight engine fire emergency checklist, discharging both fire bottle suppression agents, declared an emergency with ATC and landed without further incident. The engine fire warning continued but the neither the flight crew nor the tower personnel could see any physical evidence of a fire. The aircraft was taxied to its parking spot at fedex. The crew did a post flight inspection of the engine and still found no evidence of a fire.
