From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

After takeoff, pilot selected gear up but failed to get a gear up indicator light. Pilot selected gear down but rmlg would not extend. After working problem for three hours, pilot proceeded to kaus and initiated a gear up landing. Aircraft sustained minor damage. There was no post crash fire. Pilot/sole occupant was not injured. After hoisting aircraft, it was determined that a clevis pin in the up lock mechanism was missing. The missing pin caused the up lock mechanism to malfunction in not allowing the rmlg to extend.
