From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

Aircraft was seen taking off on runway 23, and when it reached about 250 ft altitude, the engine was heard backfiring several times, and then stopping altogether. The pilot was seen initiating a sharp turn to the right, as if attempting to return to the runway. The aircraft stalled, and rolled 360 degrees, followed by a flat spin from which it did not recover. The on-site investigation revealed that the engine was not turning on impact. Further examination of the engine is pending.
