From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

Aircraft departed local Private Strip for 2nd flight of the day. Aircraft crashed into wooded area after takeoff. On scene investigation by ASI determined the aircraft contained fuel due to fuel spill at crash site. Aviation safety inspector on scene also determined aircraft was making power due to prop strikes on trees in the local impact area. ASI determined the flight controls were operating properly by moving flight controls at the crash site. The aircraft substained major damage upon impact in the wooded area east of field where aircraft was applying chemical to farm land.
