From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

Mr. Walker was returning to mtn from new haven, conn. He was high and fast on final. He stated he was going to land on the left side of the runway and move to the Middle after touchdown due to a gusty wind condition. He touched down and bounced high. He thinks the aircraft stalled at the top of the bounce and came down very hard and drove the left gear up through the left wing. That put a side load on the right gear causing it to collapse. The nose gear fork and wheel seperated from the aircraft and to nose gear folded back into the wheel well. Mr. Walker shut everything down and exited the aircraft. Recommend 44709 to the operational unit.
