From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

The pilot was pulling up after making a pass on a field. The engine started to loose power. A load bang and white smoke was seen coming from th back of the engine. The pilot checked the mixture control, throttle and mags. He maneuvered to make a emergency landing in a pasture. After touch down, the right wing hit a small bush and turned to the right. The left main gear leg hit a ditch and folded back. The tail wheel was sheered off. The aircraft came to rest facing the opposite direction of flight.
