From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

Flight was for a regulatory flight review for PIC (his flight review expired in April 2011). Flight departed 1D2 at approximately 1830 local and proceeded to kozw where witnesses saw them doing at least 1 touch and go landing. Witness (pilot waiting to take-off)observed aircraft on final approach to runway 31 at kozw, and stated that the aircraft was "noticeably too high and at a slow airspeed" performing a slip with left aileron up and right rudder. Witness observed wings "mushing" back and forth then he broke (spun) to the right. Aircraft impacted the front yard of a residence and slid approximately 40 feet prior to becoming airborne and hit the front of the brick residence fatally injuring both pilots.
