From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

On 07/05/2011 at 12:26 pm, a Cessna 150M departed VA02 (Pace airfield) from a grass runway, uphill, with a tailwind, about 50 lbs over gross weight, and with higher than standard density altitude. The aircraft got airborne but could not climb sufficiently to clear the trees. The aircraft impacted the trees about 20 feet from the tops. The aircraft came to rest upside down about 75 feet past the trees. Both occupants were seriously injured. Airplane discrepancies were discovered during investigation; however, none contributed to this accident. Airworthiness directives and emergency locator transmitter may not be in compliance and/or properly documented.
