From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

Airman was attempting to land after flying for over 6 hours on a hot day and a high density altitude. The aircraft floated down the short grass strip before touchdown. After landing the pilot noted insufficient distance to safely stop and unable to become airborne safely he elected to ground loop the aircraft causing the main gear to depart the aircraft causing minor damage to the flaps, tail wheel assembly and the prop to strike the ground. This information was reported to the FSDO on November 2, 2011 for investigation.
