From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

On 08/06/2011 at 15:17 PST, pilot landed a/c N28ZZ, a North American T-28C, on runway 25L at Long Beach airport. As the nose wheel touched down, the lower section of the nose strut broke off and the nose of the a/c settled down on the remaining section of strut. The propeller blades contacted the runway which in turn stopped the engine from rotating. The a/c veered to the right of the runway center-line and came to a stop on the runway.
